Adventures of Huckleberry Fin

I didn’t post a blog on Friday. This I know. This I apologize for. It was an incredibly busy week, and I had nothing to share creatively. As a consolation, I will tell you about my past week's adventures. Starting with Monday.

On Monday, I enjoyed being in the same room as Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day. You may know these names as the people behind Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. That is a show I chose to watch instead of doing college work. Time well spent, I would say. They now have a podcast and did a small tour of it as a live show. It was a great night. I went with my buddies Nick and Sean. It was at the 3Arena, which is a nice spot. It wasn’t so good on the wallet. I am talking about a small popcorn and coke for about €7. It was a fun night. I walked to Stephen’s Green from there. It is both as far and as close as you think it would be. Needless to say, I doubled my move goal on my phone. We went to Boojums beforehand. It was only my second time there. I’m not a big fan of burritos, but it did the job.

On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of seeing one of the best comedians of her generation, Taylor Tomlinson. It turns out Sean was going to her the second night. He enjoyed his time, I was reliably told. I did too. It was at Vicar Street. Like Boojums, this was only my second time going to Vicar Street. Arguably Dublin’s most famous venue. Also, like the 3Arena, it’s not as far from the city centre as I thought. It is a fine venue with reasonably priced drinks. Taylor was amazing. She is such a natural and not that much older than me. That makes me feel uneasy. Her support act, Dustin Nickerson, was also great. I don’t go to stand-up comedy as much as I should.

On Wednesday, I attended a Minding Creative Minds online workshop. If you are creative and reading this, I recommend Minding Creative Minds. They do a lot of great stuff.

I attended my second networking event hosted by Film Network Ireland (FNI) on Friday night. I am so glad I went. As a creative, being in the same room as like-minded people is always nice. I reconnected with some old peers and met some new ones. I also drank a good bit and decided to pitch a film during a fun round of speed pitching as part of the festivity. Needless to say, nobody approached me with interest.

Last night, i.e., Sunday, Kurt drove down to see me. It was a nice couple of hours of catch-up. I decided to indulge in nicotine pouches again. That was not a good idea. Never again. Maybe.

That’s all I have to say. It was a busy week. I am looking forward to the week ahead. I have a couple more things coming up this week. I am sure you will hear all about it next week. Come back on Friday for some fiction. I promise I will show up this time.

Thank you for reading. I have some things in the pipeline I can’t talk about. Have a magnificent week. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your time.
