Card subject to change*

“Card subject to change.” How many times have you heard that concerning events or occasions? I suppose this storm we are currently experiencing is becoming why events always have to have this caveat. Welcome to Monday. Let’s have a bit of a moan.

This past weekend, it was WrestleMania. I stayed up both nights to watch it, but I couldn’t get through to the end of the second night. Satan knows I tried. I am saying that I am working on a bit of sleep today. So, apologies if this blog becomes incoherent.

Have you looked outside today? It’s pretty rainy. As this storm has been making its way across the country over the past week, my fears were becoming more and more of a reality. I am meant to be going to a concert tonight. Unfortunately, I have to wait another week. I have been looking forward to this concert for a long time. I have never seen The Hives live. I have been a fan for so long. I know. It could be worse. The concert could have been postponed to next year. I’ll take a week. Life gets in the way, though. I hope it doesn’t this week, for once.

I hope I don’t come across as whiny. Even though we call these Monday blogs “Monday Moaning”,. I wouldn’t say I like complaining. So, I won’t. As you know, I am a student of stoicism. An essential principle of stoicism is determining what is in your control and what isn’t. The weather isn’t in my control. My attitude is. Life happens. I hope that next week’s gig goes ahead. It will at least give me another week to prepare for the chaos of a Hives concert.

That’s all I wanted to say today—a bit of a public journal. Life happens. I am lucky to have a roof over my head in weather like that. I hope you are staying safe. Thank you for reading and for your time.
