Decisions (or what I have been up to)

Happy bank holiday Monday, everyone! The blog isn’t stopping just because the country is temporarily stopping. I am in a pretty good mood today. As you know, I don’t work on Mondays anyway. But something cool happened today that I will share on Friday if you haven’t seen my social media already…!

It was a busy week last week for Ya Boi. That’s what I am going to be talking about this evening. I won’t be complaining. Even though I am exhausted, I am still buzzing from it all.

So, where to begin? Well, Wednesday would be a good start. That’s when it all began. It was going to be a busy week. I enjoyed seeing my second favourite comedian, Seann Walsh, live on Wednesday. I feel comfortable saying second because Lee Evans is my favourite, and I know Seann is a big fan of him, too. He performed at Liberty Hall Theatre, which is…an “interesting” venue to play. I’ve been to a couple of gigs there, and unfortunately, I think it’s seen better days as a venue. Lucky for them, I will most likely go if they are hosting something I like. That was Wednesday.

I enjoyed seeing Teen Mortgage perform their first-ever headline show on Thursday at Workman’s Cellar in Dublin. That was also a great night. I like the venue, too. It's intimate but not too crowded. I briefly spoke to their drummer, Ed, who seemed like a good dude. I saw them support OFF! last year (remember OFF!). I was blown away then, and I was blown away on Thursday, too.

This, unfortunately, dearest reader, is where things took a bit of a dive. My old car (Gary) is retired, and I have acquired a new car. This car had a few problems that needed sorting out, and our family mechanic had to work on it inconveniently. Kurt and I were supposed to see Teen Mortgage again in Waterford, but I had to decide to opt-out. This is where the title of today’s blog comes from. I had to make a lot of decisions during this time. I knew the car needed fixing, and I had to choose how to get around during this fun but busy time. Kurt wasn’t too bothered, though. He was going merely as a favour to me. He is in Rome as I type this. Hey Kurt. I know you are reading this.

Thankfully, by Friday night, my car was back in my possession. This meant I could make it to my final gig of this unintentional four-day concert tour. I went to see the returning Fangclub play Whelan’s. How did that gig go? Well, you will have to come back on Friday and find out. Thank you for reading and for your time.
