Huck has Bad Nerves

Are you like me? Do you associate times in your life with the music you were listening to at the time? Maybe if you think about it for a minute, you do. Well, I do. I have been going through that recently with a band I have become a massive fan of. I’m going to talk about that band today. Welcome to Monday, by the way. Let’s talk about Bad Nerves.

Hey, remember when I went to see The Hives? Of course, you do. I haven’t stopped going on about it. It was indeed one of the best gigs I have ever been to. I mentioned it then, but their support act, Bad Nerves, was incredible. I haven’t stopped listening to them since.

Bad Nerves is a self-proclaimed power-pop rock ‘n’ roll band from Essex, UK. I gave them a listen when they were announced as The Hives’ support on their tour. The first thing that struck me was the length of their songs. At this time in my life, my attention span hasn’t been the best. Luckily for me, Bad Nerves has a discography that consists of songs that rarely last three minutes. It came to me at a crucial time. The song length aside, the songs themselves are exactly what they need to be for any wannabe punk band: fast, fun, and catchy. They tick all the boxes. But that’s only the studio stuff. A band’s live performance is just as, if not more, important.

When I left the gig last month, one sentence came to mind when recounting Bad Nerves’ performance: “I have never seen such a young band just have ‘it’”. Bad Nerves have nothing to change regarding their image, musicianship, and live performance. I honestly don't know why they aren’t headlining arenas right now.

Listen to Bad Nerves and tell me they aren’t great. Please. Their album Still Nervous is coming out at the end of the month. That’s all I have to say today. Thank you for reading and for your time.
