Huck is gonna be rich

It was a busy weekend for ol’ me. I am shattered. Therefore, I am writing today’s blog right down to the wire. This is the closest I have come to an adrenaline sport. I almost created my very own adrenaline sport last night on the way home from Dublin. Welcome to Monday.

I don’t know if I like having both Saturday and Sunday full of busyness anymore. Getting out of the house is excellent, but things never go exactly as expected. On Saturday, I went to OTT Wrestling at The Red Cow Hotel. It was a grand time. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out logistically between the hotel and the company, so I don’t think I will be venturing for a show at that venue soon. Last night, I went to something extraordinary. Steven Bartlett, who many will know as the newest Dragon on Dragon’s Den, gave a talk at Dublin’s Convention Centre. I didn’t know what to expect. I am a big fan of Steven’s and love his podcast. I have both of his books. I have yet to read them,

but that’s only because I am a book buyer and not a book reader. There is a distinction. The talk mostly entailed Steven lecturing on the lessons he learned through running many successful and unsuccessful businesses. I took notes like I was in a college lecture or something. I learnt a lot. I jokingly texted my parents and told them I would be rich. Maybe it will happen. Maybe not. We shall see. Steven is great, though. I would highly recommend looking at his work. I don’t recommend waiting for the show to be over past 11 pm and only giving yourself 20 minutes to get from the Convention Centre to Stephen’s Green for the last LUAS on a Sunday; unless you want a borderline heart attack.

That’s all I have to say today. We have up to 300 words as of now. One of the things that Steven said is that no matter what, show up for yourself everyday and everything else will follow. So, that’s what a tired young wannabe writer did today.

Thank you for reading, and thank you as always for your time.
