Keep looking up

How are you? I won’t hear your answer but maybe you should answer anyway. You may be surprised by what you say. I have been up and down lately. We are now in mid-October. It’s a dark time of year both literally and thematically, for lack of a better word. You know what I mean. I am waffling. How very Fin of me.

I went to the always enjoyable So Say So in Wexford last night. The featured act was Connemara-based artist, singer, and poet Ceara Conway. The night was a mix of short silly poems, deep meaningful poems and traditional Irish songs that helped remind me how lucky I am to be from such a cultured and artistic country.

At the end of the evening, I recited a poem I wrote during the event as part of the 5-word challenge. This challenge involves getting five random words from the audience and then you have to write a poem using those five words. It’s always a lot of fun.

Here is a link to my Instagram where you can see my finished product. I am happy with the results. I may have a story or two to moan about on Monday in relation to my travels to the event. We don’t complain on Fridays here.

That’s all I have to say about that. I hope you enjoy the weekend. Wrap up well and get some fresh air. Thank you for reading and thank you for your time.
