Larry and the Laudromat

I am writing this on Thursday. I am spending the day with Billie tomorrow, so I won’t be able to write at all, which is a shame. I am sure you will hear all about that on Monday. Until then, I have had a very occupied day, so this blog has been haphazardly put together. I have no writing to share, unfortunately. However, I do have a story to tell. It is a very strange story.

It all started with a dream. I dreamt last night. I don’t think I dream proper strange dreams often. I say I don’t know because I rarely remember them. It must be because they are so unmemorable. I have meant to record dreams in one of my journals whenever I remember them. That journal is almost full, so I must get another one. I am reading Building A Second Brain by Tiago Forte at the moment. I have been meaning to read it for a while. I am glad I finally have the time. In the little I have read, I have learnt that we should create a digital notetaking system for our lives. Our brains are not meant to hold onto so much information. You can follow me on Instagram for more on the books I have been reading.

Okay, storytime. I had a dream last night that I was in a laundromat with my Mam. We don’t have those in Ireland. The one in my dream was the kind you would see on American TV. This was probably because I had been doing my laundry more by myself. I am only 27, after all. Anyway, we are in the laundromat run by a friendly middle-aged couple. We noticed a bunch of teenagers congregated at the back of the room. We realized they were circling someone. It looked like a frenzy, so we concluded it must be a celebrity. As they moved away, we say that it was none other than Larry Lamb. If you don’t know who that is, he is the actor who plays Mick Shipman, Gavin’s father, in Gavin & Stacey. At some point, I decided to go up to him and ask for a selfie. We don’t do autographs anymore, do we? I went up to him, told him I was a fan, and he was very gracious.

Dreams are weird, man. I haven’t watched Gavin & Stacey in a while. He might have come to mind because I watched an episode of Would I Lie to You? where he was a panellist. Again, dreams are weird.

That’s all I have to say today. I hope you have a lovely weekend. I am off to the wrestling on Saturday. I am looking forward to it, as always. Look after yourself and the ones you love. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your time.
