My life story in five sentences

Hello. Hello to all the new eyes that may or not be reading this blog. Why would there be more? I went to my first industry mixer last night in Dublin and had a lovely time. After gathering dust for over a year, my business cards finally found new homes. I even grabbed some others for myself. I am glad I went. If you are a creative of any kind, look at Film Network Ireland. Its co-founder, Paul, put my voiceover reel together. You can now listen to that on this very website. How exciting is that?

Well, it’s Friday, kids. That means it’s Friday Fiction time. Today I will share two prompts I wrote during a recent writer’s group meeting. Look no further than the next paragraph if you don’t know much about me and want to learn more in a bite-sized chunk. I hope you will look further on this blog in the future.

My life story in five sentences:

Born with spina bifida. I lived in Crumlin hospital for the first six weeks of my life. Born to an artistic mother and a music-loving father. I first acted onstage at age 10. Still finding his feet at 27.

There is lots of information to take in there. If you have any questions, ask me the next time you see me. We have that thing next week, don’t we?

This next piece was a tough pill to swallow, but it is painfully true. In the bad times three years ago, I tried to improve myself inside and out. Unfortunately for many, all the advice you read can only truly work if it is applied.

The advice I give but never follow:

I am a self-improvement nut. I have read all the books. I have watched all the videos. I have listened to all the podcasts. Do I ever use the information I receive? Very rarely. I am my own worst enemy. It’s a damn shame. Will I tell you how to live your life? Absolutely. Hello, I am Mr Hypocrite. Nice to meet you.

I recently decided on the title of my debut poetry collection. I will draft a rough draft of the poetry collection starting this week. Come back next week for more updates.

That’s all I have to say. I am tired today. I had a late night. Buses suck. I hope you enjoyed these little pieces. I hope you have a lovely weekend. You are doing great, whatever it is you are doing. Hi

Thank you for reading, and thank you for your time.
