Take care

As the train pulled out of the station he felt annoyed at himself for not saying what he wanted to say. She was going away for a long time. He didn’t know when or even if he would ever see her again. He just said “take care”.

They shared a wonderful conversation on the taxi ride to the station. He was asking her about what she would be getting up to when she got there. She was asking him about how his job was going.

After departing the taxi, he agreed to see her to the barricade before she got on the train. He wanted to tell her to stay but he couldn’t. He wanted to finally ask her out on a date but he couldn’t. He just let her go. He walked back to the taxi and wondered what could have been.
