Thank you for your time

On the 6th of June last year, having left a job I worked for two years, I decided to follow my passions for once. This began with finding a way to hone my skills as a writer. Eventually, I decided to blog. It was always something I wanted to do. It felt like the way to go. Writing about me, myself, and I with a sprinkling of life experience and discussions about the people and things I love. That was step one.

Step two was finding somewhere to do it. I had tried and failed several times at this blogging thing, even in my school days. Those blogs don’t exist anymore before you go snooping. Being the person I am, I consume a lot of content. I love YouTube and podcasts. Having listened to podcasts while still in school and watching YouTube since the beginning, I was never interested in sponsorships. The main reason being I could never afford to buy anything. I was still a child, you see. Then, as I got older and started making a bit of money, I indulged more. I still do. I should take my foot off the pedal a bit. Anyway, Squarespace came to my attention. I thought, “Surely, it’s as good a time as any to start putting myself out there.” It was. It was time to start a blog.

That blog is what you are reading right now. It has existed for a year, and what a year it has been. I have to laugh at myself a bit. I was incredibly optimistic when I started. If you remember my first-ever post, I said I would write a blog daily. That lasted a minute. I think twice a week is far more manageable. Plus, I have a life to live too. I am happy this blog exists. It gives me a reason to write most days of the week. After 12 months, I finally feel like I am getting good at it.

My Facebook page currently has 62 likes and 71 followers. To all those who have liked/followed my page, thank you. My readership is low, so it feels like an exclusive club. I was going to share some analytics, but I don’t understand them yet, and I doubt you want to hear them. Thank you all so much for reading about me to trying to get better at this. I hope you stick around. The only way is up.

Now comes the awkward part. As you may see at the top of the homepage, there are a couple of ways to support me monetarily. I am doing the Scroobius Pip on it. He asks for a pound a month. The only amount I want from anyone is €1. That’s all I ask. The “Support Me” button brings you directly to my Ko-Fi page. The money donated will go directly towards funding my debut poetry collection. Here, you can make your once-off donation. I am still trying to figure out the other ways. It is more stressful than I thought. I will be working on these other support platforms in the coming weeks. I will keep you abreast of my progress.

Thank you once again. Thank you for reading, sincerely. Thank you for your time, sincerely.
