The joys of country living

Hey kids. Story time. But first; I have to tell you something. I did a thing yesterday. A TV thing. That’s literally all I can tell you probably. I literally signed an NDA. How professional, right? One thing I can tell you that recently I encountered a loose horse on my road and this is the retelling of that story:

I was just about to leave to pick up the takeaway. I stopped myself briefly. I ran back inside to check what the order number was. When I found out, I went on my merry way.

Living in the country comes with its challenges. The roads are always in a state, you are sometimes awoken by animal noises at all hours, and a tractor goes by the house at least once a day.

As I turned down my country road towards the town centre, I saw a red light in the distance. Two cars blocked the path. I saw a woman near an open gate into a field trying to wrangle something massive. It was a horse.

“Do you need some help?” I called out my window as the lady tried to tame the animal.

“No, you’re fine, give me a minute” the lady insisted.

The lady told me later that she was sure she closed the gate. As someone who didn’t grow up in the country, I couldn’t ever imagine the stress of keeping a farm or a field. I am not sure of everything I want to do in life, but owning a far is something I never want to do.

True story. Some details were exaggerated for dramatic effect. That’s all I have for you today. Thank you for reading. Happy December, by the way. Thank you for your time.
