What I am looking at

Its Friday. Did you know that? It’s not Friday when I am writing this. I hate to allow you to peek behind the curtain like this. On Friday we share art here. I don’t have much to share of my own at the moment. Fear not though. I think I will take this opportunity on this day to shout out some creatives I like and maybe you will show them some love in your way. I went through a couple of days this week where I went down the spoken word rabbit hole again. It’s always a fun time.

First up, I watched some Rudy Francisco videos. If you know anything about me, you know I love Rudy Francisco. He’s just great. The poem is called A Few Things I Strongly Believe In. It’s short and sweet. Next up, I watched a couple of Neil Hilborn videos. Some people may be more familiar with his work. His poem OCD went viral a few years ago. One of the videos I watched of him is called What’s Good.

Closer to home, I have become a big fan of Luke Wright recently. I hope to get my hands on some of his books soon. His style is very theatrical, and I love it. Here’s a clip I watched of his earlier this week.

So Say So was on last night. If you haven’t been down to Wexford for that and you like poetry, I don’t know why you haven’t. Ciarán Hodgers was the featured performer this month. I wasn’t familiar with his work before last night but I can now say I am a fan. He mixes humour and vulnerability perfectly. I can’t wait to read the book I bought from the man himself. I hope you enjoy his stuff as much as I do.

I think I have reached my referral links for one blog post now. I hope you check out all these amazing creatives from all around the world. Keep supporting the creatives you like. It’s all incredibly important. Thank you for reading. Support the arts. Thank you for your time.
