Huck & Kurt go whiskey tasting.

Happy Monday to those who celebrate. I know I celebrate every Monday because Monday is blog day. I was in my hometown of Waterford over the weekend and had a lovely time. Let’s talk about that.

Kurt has become big into whiskey over the past few years, and I have been meaning to get into it for a while. Kurt invited me down to Waterford to go on a whiskey-tasting adventure. I accepted his offer. I don’t get to explore Waterford as much when I am there anymore. It’s either because I am there for an evening event or spending time with friends in the same places we did back in the day. Waterford changes every time I go down now. I am grown up enough to know that’s life. It still throws me a loop because I never know where to get food. I went down early to meet another friend, but he couldn’t meet up in the end, so I had a few hours to kill. I parked outside Kurt’s house and walked into town. I walked into town for a while, and it felt very nostalgic. I went for a casual stroll and ate a portion of mini doughnuts and a sandwich (not in that order or at the same time). Finally, Kurt was off work, and we met up in Revolution, the famed whiskey bar. Kurt had me try two whiskeys in those sniffing glasses all the connoisseurs use. They are called Glencairn glasses (I had to look that up just now). My verdict? It’s the early days of my whiskey-tasting hobby. I haven’t given up just yet. But there is more whiskey out there. I’ll find something I like soon. I trust Kurt.

One thing I never gave up on was this whiskey liqueur that I love called Muldoon’s. It tastes like toffee, and it's delicious. I had a couple of them. Then, we went for some food. We first went to Gino’s, a pizzeria I hadn’t visited in years. Not a thing has changed, which is all good with me. We then went to an Asian restaurant for Kurt’s dinner (we have different tastes in food, but we make it work. How great are we?) After that, we returned to Kurt’s house, stopping at an off-license. The night at Kurt’s house consisted of deep conversations, laughs and an impromptu video call with Fred. We listened to music, and I woke up the next day not as hungover as I thought I would be. We will call that a win.

Hang out with your friends once in a while. Just have fun. Just do it. That’s all I will say about that. I am a big fan of Kurt. I know he’s reading this. I love you, buddy. That’s all from me today. Thank you for reading and thank you for your time.
