Huck got a job.

So, big news. From the title of this blog, I am sure you will be able to figure it out. That’s right. After over a year of living off the soul-crushing government funding that is the dole, I am now living off a probably not-so-soul-crushing government funding adjacent wage. Welcome to Monday. Let’s talk about what I have been up to.

The blog has been on the back burner for the past few weeks. This I am aware of. I didn’t plan this at all. Trust me. Writing this blog is still something I enjoy doing. I do not like making excuses, but I haven’t been dividing my time well, and my technological setup is starting to impede my creative pursuits (which is a poetic way of saying my laptop stops me from doing my work a lot these days). All this aside, I hope I can still write this blog like I do as if nothing has changed. Why do I think that? Well, let me answer by telling you more about the job.

The important thing for me is that this job doesn’t interfere with my personal life. That may sound entitled, but I don’t mean it to be. I know that people work many more hours than I do and don’t have time for anything outside of work. This job won’t affect my usual writing days (which is entirely fortuitous). As I said, if I pursue my creative endeavours outside of work, I will be one happy Fin.

I don’t want to tell you everything about the job itself at this time. Just know that it is a government job that involves working with and helping people from various backgrounds. From what little knowledge I have about what I will be getting up to daily, I think I may be well suited to it. Here is hoping, anyway.

The blog will continue as long as I am willing, and I am still very much willing to do so. Thank you to everyone who has supported me up until this point. I appreciate it immensely, and it gives me hope for the future. Thank you for reading. See you on Friday for some fiction. Thank you for your time.
