Huck’s busy week

Have you ever gone to a gig two nights in a row? Well, I now have. I managed to do it while also maintaining my hours at work. Welcome to Monday, by the way. Let’s talk about how busy the week I have had was.

I am writing this on Saturday. Why? Well, it’s my only day off for the next week, and I certainly didn’t have time this past week. Let me break it down like I did on Instagram (@mrfinbrennan, by the way).

On Monday, I was doing extra work on that American gameshow I did earlier this year. It was a lot of fun—tiring but fun. I didn’t have a job back then. Luckily, my job allows me to do some stuff on the side. I was in the same room as some celebrities. That’s all I can say about that.

On Tuesday, I was at my regular day job. Not only that, but I also went to see Bowling For Soup live at The Academy in Dublin. When I bought the tickets, I decided to do what I had always wanted: see a band two nights in a row. To see if there was much of a difference. It turns out that when it comes to Bowling For Soup, that couldn’t be more accurate. They are my favourite band to see live; officially, they are the band I have seen most often live. I think that says it all.

On Wednesday, I was at my regular day job yet again. Although I was working on about 5 hours of sleep, I survived. I managed to get enough work done and again got to Dublin for another gig. Who did I see this time? Well, it was Bowling For Soup. Like I said, I always wanted to go to a show two nights in a row. I have now done that. The verdict? I would do it again. It's lots of fun seeing the slight changes in the setlist and different banter from the band. When that band is Bowling For Soup, that happens a lot.

I was at work yet again and just as tired as the previous day on Thursday. But, yet again, I survived. My role in my new job is slowly becoming more meaningful, which I am both nervous and excited about. That concluded my workweek.

Like I said, I have time to do other things outside of work. Since I wasn’t working on Friday, I decided to be crazy and signed up for more extra work on the American game show. I won’t say I regretted it because getting paid to sit in a studio and dance a bit is always nice. But keeping your energy up for a whole day is quite the task. I am not complaining. I would for sure do it again.

Saturday was my day off after six days of nonstop, tiring fun. On Sunday, I did even more extra work, and there won’t be any more of that for the next while as the season is over. All in all, it’s good to keep busy. I spent a lot of time not doing much, and now that I know my limits (both potential and limitations), I feel like it has all been an eye-opening experience.

I went to Green Day in Marlay Park on Thursday. This blog was written before then, and I miss it. Now that things have quietened, I will try to return to a routine. Thank you for reading this rambling blog. I will see you on Friday for some fiction. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your time.
